Sometimes in the life of an underwater photographer you have a trip so good you book it again before you even leave the boat. That's what happened after our 2017 trip to the Tuamotus. We chose a date for the optimal cruising season 2019, once again aboard French Polynesia Master.

This year’s trip will be slightly different in that we will depart from Papeete. This ges us the advantage of not having to fly a small domestic aircraft to Fakarava, and suffer the expense and weight restrictions involved. It has the additional advantage of being the beginning of the whales migration season win French Polynesia and will be prepared to snorkel with humpbacks if the opportunity presents.

But, for the most part this tour will be about enjng the stellar water clarity in the Tuamotus Archipelago (150-feet is not unusual) and interacting with large populations of sharks and other pelagic creatures. Unlso many places you go in the world where shark proximityis a function of bait, these are healthy sharks in a natural ecosystem, both inspiring and exciting.

The reef dwellers are equally photogenic, with massive schools of blackball soldierfish, blue-lined snapper, and both manta and eagle ray adding diversity to the Fakarava portfolio.
